OMG SHOCKING!!! EastEnders legend Scott Maslen surprised by co-stars in hilarious birthday video

EastEnders star Scott Maslen’s co-stars have put together a hilarious video for his birthday today (25 June). The actor, who plays Jack Branning, turned 55 years old and his fellow soap stars were quick to celebrate it.

In a video posted on Jake Wood’s (Max Branning)Instagram, Scott can be seen receiving his birthday cake from Alex Walkinshaw (Ross Marshall), while Tameka Empson (Kim Fox), Ellie Dadd (Amy Mitchell) and Kellie Bright (Linda Carter) are waiting in the background.

While Alex takes away the cake, something that leads Scott to suspect something might be afoot, Tameka gives him a heartfelt birthday speech.

“You just light up a room,” she says. “We really love you. You know that we really love you. You’re blood, a brother from another mother, father, you know what I mean?”

However, instead of singing happy birthday, his co-stars decide to pelt him with water balloons, and chaos ensues as Jack eventually joins in.

Declaring “war” and losing his guitar sunglasses and party hat in the process, he returns the favour and begins throwing water balloons back at them, even stealing the whole bag from Tameka.

Alex and Jack pelt each other before the star turns his attention to Wood, who is behind the camera. In hot pursuit, he chases him round the car, all while Wood is hysterically laughing, and throws a balloon at him.

And people in the comments were similarly amused, as one person wrote: “Loved this,” while another said: “That’s one way to cool down. Happy birthday Scott.”

Lacey Turner, who is well known for her role as Stacey Slater, also wrote: “There’s no one like mad maz !!! Happy birthday you legend,” and Honey Mitchell’s actor Emma Barton commented three laughing emojis.

In 2007, Scott left his role as DS Phil Hunter in ITV police drama The Bill for a part in EastEnders. He then left the soap in 2013 before returning permanently in 2015, telling Digital Spy at the time: “It was like I hadn’t left. It felt a bit strange because there are new characters who I don’t know – but that fits with the story.”
