EastEnders’ Chelsea Fox feels the pressure next week as she secretly lets Gray Atkins’ granny Sheila become a bigger part of Jordan’s life, while continuing to hide it from the family. Can Chelsea keep it together without cracking?
“Chelsea has a lot on her plate at the moment,” begins our EastEnders insider. “Sheila is proving to be a great help, emotionally and financially, but Chelsea doesn’t want anyone to know she’s in touch with her because of the pensioner’s connection to abuser Gray. And we get the feeling Sheila might be up to something…”
Even though she’s used to being an independent single parent and does her best to provide for her little boy, Chelsea’s had a curveball chucked into her life thanks to recent events. Cashflow is now an increasingly big concern, as Jordan’s injuries require specialist – and expensive – treatment.

When Sheila got in touch out of the blue, wanting to get to know her great grandson, Chelsea was initially reluctant as she didn’t want any reminders of Jordan’s dastardly dad, who’s locked up for murder.
Unfortunately, she doesn’t have much choice, hence reluctantly accepting Sheila’s monetary contributions to Jordan’s care – with Chelsea’s sister Libby the only relative in the know.
Ordinarily, Chelsea would turn to her mother in this darkest of hours, only poor Denise is in hospital being treated for acute myeloid leukaemia.
This requires her to be in isolation for a lengthy period to avoid infection, so she can’t have any contact with her loved ones. Chelsea’s finding this especially hard, but Sheila is only too happy to swoop in while Denise is absent…
“Sheila knows Chelsea isn’t crazy about having her around,” notes our source. “It’s understandable, but it’s a chance to connect with her great-grandson after already missing out on so much. To get Chelsea on side, Sheila buys Jordan an expensive wheelchair needed for his rehabilitation – how can she turn her away now?”
Chelsea is overwhelmed by the gesture, and while she’s grateful, she’s also dreading telling the wider Fox-Trueman clan about Jordan’s fairy great-grandmother, and she’s becoming suspicious about Sheila’s true intentions.
A heated exchange between them about access to Jordan leaves Chelsea shaken, leading to her giving Sheila her marching orders! What will Sheila’s next move be?
