EastEnders’ Max Branning and Cindy Beale hold their engagement party next week, but their union could turn out to be one of the shortest in soap history – if spiralling Priya Nandra-Hart reveals all about her and Max’s recent night of passion!

“Priya’s a loose cannon and Max knows it,” says our Walford insider. “He’s on tenterhooks when she arrives at the party dressed to the nines, flirting up a storm and putting Cindy’s nose well out of joint.

“Priya knows her secret will blow Max’s life to smithereens – so will she choose their engagement bash to drop her bombshell for maximum effect?”

The nail-biting scenes unfold as Priya is trying and failing to navigate life without Ravi, who has ended their relationship and quit Walford following his recent mental health troubles. She’s putting on a brave face for the kids, who think their dad is still in the hospital receiving treatment.

However, Priya stumbles when Avani asks if she can see Ravi, leaving her daughter suspicious and Priya struggling more than ever to come to terms with Ravi’s departure.

Meanwhile, Cindy is determined to wow the Square with a party to celebrate her and Max’s engagement. She’s upset when both Gina and Peter – who are conflicted over their mum’s new love – appear reluctant to help.

Crestfallen, Cindy presumes Max also might be less than enthusiastic about the idea of a party, but she’s delighted when he insists they should put on a big celebration.

Max might regret his enthusiasm, however, when Cindy takes that as permission to nick Priya from her job at the car lot and put her to work with her on the party preparations instead!

With Priya already on the edge, being near Cindy isn’t perhaps the best idea, and soon the two women are clashing. Max is quick to spot the altercation and he leaps to intervene – as Priya issues him with a warning.

“Priya’s words are ringing in Max’s ears as the engagement party begins, and it’s clear that she loves toying with him, while providing the perfect distraction from our own troubles,” says our insider.

“She certainly makes her presence felt at the party, but is she there to cause trouble – or show Max what he’s missing?”

As the night plays out, there’s drama afoot as, one way or the other, Max will once again live to regret getting himself in too deep with a dangerous, desirable woman…
