EastEnders’ Nicola Mitchell and George Knight have each confessed their major secrets, in the dramatic fallout of Eddie’s death. George is finding it difficult to cope after his evil dad’s demise, as on the night before he refused to help Eddie when he choked on his medication and watched as he died in front of him.

As he clashed with Nicola over her secret financial deal with Eddie, George headed to the boxing gym to let off steam. He went against medical advice and got back in the ring to spar with Mark – but when George took things too far, Mark defended himself and accidentally knocked him unconscious.

Mark desperately tried to wake George in today’s episode, but Phil then arrived and explained that he shouldn’t have been boxing as he has a brain injury.

Thankfully, George regained consciousness, but once alone with Phil, he admitted that he is feeling guilty about his dad because he killed him.

Once he explained what had happened, Phil reasoned that what George did wasn’t murder. He argued that Eddie deserved what happened to him, so pleaded with George to keep quiet about the events of his dad’s death and move on.

Meanwhile at Harry’s Barn, Harry urged Nicola to tell Gina about her deal with Eddie before she finds out another way. He forced his mum’s hand by inviting Gina to the bar and demanding that either she tells her the truth or he will.

Nicola had no choice but to come clean to furious Gina, who was even more heartbroken that Harry had also known the truth. Gina made it clear how much Eddie coming back hurt her and walked out, with Harry running after her.

Phil took George home and told Nicola about the incident at the gym. However, this also meant that Phil had to inform Nicola about George’s CTE, seeing as she didn’t know about the potentially deadly brain injury.

Nicola confronted George afterwards, and when she saw how much he was struggling, she explained the extent of her dire financial situation to justify why she felt she had to take Eddie’s money.

George couldn’t believe that he didn’t notice these major money issues at the time, and he felt that by not being able to provide for his kids, he had failed them and was a terrible father.

Will Nicola be able to help George through his current struggle, and will George let her in?
