WORLD Cup fever is almost upon us, with a record 48 teams competing in this years tournament.
ITV and BBC will show every game live across their channels in the UK, meaning you can catch all the action of football’s biggest sporting event.
However, due to the times that the games will be shown, Britain’s favourite soaps will be affected.

England kick off their World Cup campaign against Croatia on June 17 at 9pm, and also play at 9pm on June 23 against Ghana, finishing the group with a 10pm start time against Panama on June 27.
Coronation Street is one of the soaps that will be affected during the tournament, with it’s regular 8.30pm start time clashing with England’s coverage.
Here’s all you need to know about when Coronation Street will air across the World Cup.
When is Coronation Street showing during the World Cup?
- Monday, June 15: 9pm (hour-long episode)
- Tuesday, June 16: 9pm (hour-long episode)
- Wednesday, June 17: Not airing
- Thursday, June 18: Not airing
- Friday, June 19: 8:30pm (half-hour episode)
- Monday, June 22: 9pm (hour-long episode)
It is worth noting that ITV’s TV guide currently only runs to Monday, June 22.

When is Coronation Street on ITVX during the World Cup?
For those who can’t wait for their soap fix, each episode of Coronation Street will also be available to stream on ITVX.
On the days Corrie is broadcast on ITV, new episodes drop on the channel’s streaming platform at 7am.
