The following article contains spoilers from the episode of Emmerdale dated July 2. It hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX and YouTube.

Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn) has made a devastating discovery about his dead mum in Emmerdale.

The youngster has been struggling with his emotions in recent weeks, and attempted to deal with them by setting fire to things on Emmerdale Farm.

Kyle’s secret was discovered by Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough), who spotted smoke feeding into the sky after Kyle set fire to his car.

When the boy ranted about Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) taking his home, and how awful he felt about his dad Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) getting cancer, Graham felt sorry for him. He knew that Kyle wasn’t setting fire to things just to cause trouble, and decided to try and help.

Graham became somewhat of a mentor to Kyle. He signed him up to the cadets, and also gave him advice about processing difficult thoughts and feelings.

The watch that Graham gave Kyle became topic of conversation in today’s episode. With the knowledge that Kyle had been wearing it, he confronted his son about it, believing that it had been stolen.

Kyle confirmed that Graham gave him the item, which left Cain and Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) very confused.

The lad didn’t reveal any answers, so Cain headed to Home Farm to find them. There, Graham told Cain everything about how he’s been helping Kyle because he recognised that he was feeling troubled.

The fact that his son was finding things tough wasn’t the focus for Cain, the only thing he could think about was how Graham randomly decided to start looking out for Kyle. He also sensed that Graham was hiding something, and refused to leave until he found out what it was.

Graham told Cain that Kyle had been starting the fires. He didn’t want to pick a fight, and responded calmly to all of the snappy comments Cain made about how he had no right to try and be a makeshift parent to his boy.

Back at Wishing Well, Cain failed to keep his anger in check when Kyle said that Graham has actually been quite supportive, and believes he isn’t like any of the other Home Farm residents.

Cain put his foot down and stated that Kyle wouldn’t be seeing Graham anymore. Curious, Kyle asked why, and Cain revealed that Graham protects the man who killed his mum.

What happened during the limo crash?

Kyle’s mum Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) was one of the three women who died in the limo crash disaster back in 2025.

On a cold February evening, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) was driving a limo full of female residents and Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson). She was forced to swerve when she spotted Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) staggering around in the road.

The limo crashed on top of a frozen lake. The residents weren’t able to make their way across the ice immediately, as they made a devastating discovery about Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough).

Suzy had sustained a head injury during the crash, which ended her life.

One by one, the group carefully made their way across the lake. A number of characters made it to safe ground, but they faced another crisis when it was Amy’s turn to try and reach the land.

Amy fell through the ice and briefly became trapped under the water. She was pulled across, but suffered severe hypothermia and later died in hospital.

The third and final women to die in the ordeal was Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi).

Leyla had sustained an injury during the crash, and also died in hospital.

In the aftermath, Noah spent a great deal of time believing that the limo crash was his fault. It was then revealed that he had been drugged and kidnapped by his brother Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).

He and dodgy surgeon Doctor Crowley were trying to find a blood match for Joe, who needed a kidney transplant. They took Noah to a private hosptial, but learnt that the young man wasn’t a match.

Noah was dumped at the side of a road, leading to the moment he walked in front of Charity’s limo.

In future episodes, Kyle will head up to Home Farm in an attempt to get answers from Joe about Amy’s death.

Cain’s inability to control his anger has made another situation a whole lot worse.

What does this development mean for his relationship with Kyle?
