Coronation Street’s Olivia Frances Brown ‘splits’ from TV star fiancé

Coronation Street’s Jodie Ramsey is all about the drama.
Emerging, tied up, from the back of a van driven by the ever-insidious Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough), who was attempting to deliver her to a shadowy organised crime group she’d royally ticked off, Jodie re-discovered her sister, Shona Platt (Julia Goulding), and instantly set about trying to make her life as difficult as possible, with her sights firmly set on stealing her husband, David (Jack P Shepherd).
Off-screen, though, soap newcomer and emerging fan favourite, Olivia Frances-Brown, who plays the twisted sister, has dealt with drama of her own.
Olivia has split with her fiancé, James Nelson-Joyce, an incredibly celebrated actor in his own right, having had roles in Mount Pleasant, Little Boy Blue, The Nest, A Town Called Malice and This City Is Ours among many other productions, who’s also tipped to become the next James Bond.
Having unfollowed each other on Instagram, both have also removed all pictures of them together and any traces of their former relationship.
A source told The Sun: ‘It’s finished. They were a rock-solid showbiz couple, and their fans will be absolutely shocked and devastated’, adding that the couple had been: ‘struggling to make time in their diaries for each other.’

Olivia had previously spoken on how the duo managed their respective careers while together.
Speaking to YM Liverpool, she said: ‘We do read lines together, but we respect each other’s creative process.
‘Sometimes it’s about giving each other space – creative work can be quite solitary. We both understand that, which is valuable in a partner.
‘We also understand the demands of the job and that work sometimes has to take priority, so it helps to be with someone who gets that.
‘Ultimately, it’s about balance. Work doesn’t always stay at work in this job, so knowing how to switch off and decompress makes all the difference.’
Olivia recently debuted a new look, perhaps in response to the break up. Everybody knows when a relationship ends, a hair change is soon to follow!
Showing off her stylish new bangs, she captioned the snaps: ‘chopped the fringe, felt cute’
Her Corrie co-stars flooded the post with comments.
Claire Sweeney, who plays Cassie Plummer said ‘Love it’, while Lucy Fallon, who plays (Bethany Platt), echoed her sentiment with: ‘i lurv it’. Olivia’s on-screen sister Julia Goulding added: ‘Beauts’. Lily Platt actress, Grace Ashcroft-Gardner commented: ‘unreal’, while Megan Walsh actress, Beth Nixon, added a drooling emoji.
Jodie’s new victim
Finding herself on the outs with Shona and with a new enemy in David after her plot to seduce him went totally awry, Jodie has been forced to seek out somewhere else to stay, and capitalised on the vulnerable Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), who’s life has crumbled since the revelation that his ex-girlfriend, Megan, is a paedophile.
With Daniel suspended from work and home alone, pretending he’d gone on holiday, Jodie quickly became his only confidante, but as ever, she’s been manipulating him.
Creating an online persona under the name of ‘Truthteller’, Jodie has been actively trolling Daniel, stating that he was well aware of Megan’s predatory behaviour and knew all about her campaign of grooming and sexual abuse against Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale).
Coronation Street fans are used to explosive storylines, but the latest drama involving rising star Maya Collins is proving that the chaos isn’t limited to Weatherfield.
On screen, Maya’s character, Lara Whitfield, has quickly become one of the most unpredictable newcomers in recent years. Introduced as a mysterious figure with a troubled past, Lara arrived in Weatherfield claiming she was simply “starting over”. But viewers soon discovered there was far more to her than meets the eye.
After ingratiating herself with the Bailey family, Lara began quietly inserting herself into multiple storylines at once—offering support to those in crisis while secretly manipulating situations behind the scenes. Her charm, confidence, and emotional intelligence made her instantly likeable to some residents, but deeply suspicious to others.
Things escalated dramatically when Lara became involved with Adam Barlow (Samuel Robertson), whose marriage was already under strain. What began as flirtation quickly turned into emotional entanglement, and now spoilers suggest Lara may be orchestrating a much deeper game—one that could tear apart multiple families in Weatherfield.
But while Lara is causing havoc on screen, actress Maya Collins is facing turbulence of her own in real life.
Off-screen heartbreak for Maya Collins
Maya, who has quickly gained a strong fan following since joining Coronation Street, has reportedly split from long-term partner Elliot Grant, a behind-the-scenes television producer known for his work on several UK drama series.
The pair were often described as a “low-key but solid” couple, avoiding the spotlight despite Maya’s rising fame. However, according to insiders, the pressures of busy filming schedules and long-distance commitments eventually took their toll.
A source close to the couple said:
“It’s been coming for a while. They really cared about each other, but the timing was always off. Maya’s world has changed so quickly since joining Corrie, and it became harder for them to stay connected.”
Fans first noticed something had changed when the pair unfollowed each other on social media and quietly removed shared photos. While neither has publicly commented, the signs were enough to spark widespread speculation among viewers.
“A fresh start” and a new image
Shortly after news of the split circulated online, Maya appeared to make a subtle but noticeable change to her appearance. She debuted a sharper, more polished look at a recent press event for Coronation Street, sporting a new hairstyle and a more confident public persona.
Her caption on social media simply read: “New chapter, same me.”
The post immediately attracted attention from co-stars and fans alike. Several cast members flooded the comments with supportive messages, praising her look and resilience. Behind the scenes, however, sources suggest Maya has been focusing heavily on work, using filming as a distraction from personal upheaval.
Lara Whitfield’s dangerous next move
Back in Weatherfield, Lara Whitfield’s storyline is heading into increasingly dark territory. Having already alienated several residents through manipulation and half-truths, she now appears to be targeting Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), who has been struggling emotionally after a series of personal and professional setbacks.
Daniel, still recovering from recent trauma and isolated from many of his usual support systems, initially sees Lara as a rare source of comfort. She listens, sympathises, and appears to understand his struggles better than anyone else.
But viewers know better.
Recent scenes hint that Lara may be carefully cultivating Daniel’s trust for her own agenda. Insiders suggest she could be using him as part of a wider plan to gain leverage over multiple Weatherfield residents, particularly those connected to past scandals involving deception and abuse of power.
One of the most shocking twists involves an anonymous online persona called “The Observer”, believed to be linked to Lara herself. Through this identity, she has been spreading rumours and half-truths about Daniel’s past, subtly shaping public opinion against him while maintaining her innocent façade in person.
Tensions rise among the Platts
Meanwhile, Lara’s fractured relationship with the Platt family is set to explode further. After previously clashing with Shona Platt (Julia Goulding), Lara’s attempts to insert herself into family dynamics have only made tensions worse.
David Platt (Jack P Shepherd), already suspicious of Lara’s motives, is reportedly preparing to confront her directly after uncovering inconsistencies in her past stories. However, doing so risks escalating the situation even further, especially as Lara appears increasingly unpredictable.
Behind the scenes, production sources hint that upcoming episodes will feature “one of the most emotionally charged confrontations of the year”, with Lara at the centre of it all.
A fan favourite—or future villain?

Despite her increasingly manipulative behaviour, Lara Whitfield has divided viewers. Some fans see her as a classic soap “anti-heroine”—complex, damaged, and compelling. Others believe she is rapidly becoming one of the show’s most dangerous modern villains.
Social media reactions have been intense, with viewers debating whether Lara is misunderstood or calculatingly cruel. The ambiguity is clearly intentional, with writers slowly peeling back layers of her backstory.
What is clear, however, is that Lara’s presence is reshaping dynamics across Weatherfield in ways few anticipated when she first arrived.
What happens next?
As Maya Collins navigates both her personal breakup and rising public attention, her character Lara Whitfield is set to become even more central to upcoming storylines in Coronation Street.
With secrets unraveling, relationships breaking down, and trust disappearing across Weatherfield, Lara may soon find herself at the heart of a storm she can no longer control.
Or perhaps—just perhaps—she’s been controlling it all along.
One thing is certain: in true soap fashion, nothing in Weatherfield stays quiet for long.
