BREAKING NEWS!!! Coronation Street quickly ends a huge Driscoll family story in early ITVX episode
It’s been a tumultuous time for the Driscolls on Coronation Street lately, but one huge storyline has concluded amid drama for the family. While they will still be in the thick of it in other areas, the clan has some peace of mind regarding their health.
Since Eva Price returned to Weatherfield with her new partner, Ben, in October, it’s been a whirlwind few months. With a devastating storyline involving Will and plenty of family secrets being kept by Maggie, the drama has barely stopped.

One of the arcs saw Ben learn that Steve McDonald was actually his half-brother, following Maggie’s affair with Jim. While it understandably came as a shock to him, Ben has gotten along swimmingly with Steve.
There was some slight concern, however, as Jim was diagnosed with myotonic dystrophy in 2016. The condition, which is genetic, causes progressive muscle weakness and loss as it progresses.
With the family worried that the condition could be passed down, Ben decided to get himself tested as well as sons Ollie and Will, and the results of the test are confirmed in today’s episode of the ITV soap.
As Eva and Ollie prepare for a family dinner, she remarks that they are celebrating the men of the family being given the “all-clear”, adding that they haven’t had “much to shout about lately”.
While Ben and Ollie say they are relieved, the bartender quickly says that there are more pressing matters to attend to, with Megan Walsh having been released from prison in recent hours.

Before Ben and Eva get to Megan, they have a feisty family dinner, with Ben taking his anger out on Maggie. He recently discovered that she had a part in his father’s death, and tells his wider family at the dinner.
After tempers flare, Maggie decides to leave, and Ben heads off for a drink. Later on, Eva urges him to be kind to Maggie despite their differences, but it remains to be seen if he’ll forgive his mother.
Coronation Street airs Will Driscoll’s emotional exit tonight, after he agreed to move to Scotland with his mum Melanie. But unbeknownst to his family, the teenager is actually planning to flee to France with groomer Megan Walsh. Will they discover the truth before it’s too late?
The episode opens with a concerned Ben Driscoll realising he had left the pub safe open the night before, following an argument with Sean Tully. As he counts the money, he discovers £2,000 is missing and starts to doubt his employee.
Meanwhile, Will has a secret meeting with Megan, revealing that he was the one who stole the money from the safe. The sports coach is shocked when she learns how much he took, but Will insists they need the money to begin their new life abroad.
“They think I’m going to Scotland, okay? So by the time they figure it out, you and I will be in France, eating croissants in bed,” he explains.
Back at the pub, Eva refuses to believe Sean could have stolen from them, and gently asks Will if he’s responsible. Having handed the cash over to Megan, Will acts affronted and performatively empties his bag over the table to prove his innocence.
Eva is left with no choice but to broach the topic with Sean, who is equally offended by the accusation, and things get even more heated when Ben arrives to question the barman.
In the backroom, Ben and Steve have an honest chat about the argument with Sean. Ben admits that he’s stressed about Will and keeps expecting Megan to “turn up and whisk him away” – not knowing how right he is.
When he shares that he’s dreading dropping Will off to the train station, Steve offers Tim’s services instead. Steve gives his new half-brother a pep talk, and Ben later apologises to Sean.
Later, as Will gathers his things, Ben takes the opportunity to ask if Megan is “back on the scene”, which the teen continues to deny. The pair then share an emotional goodbye on the street, before Will gets into Tim’s cab.
As the car pulls away, Will checks his train booking on his phone, confirming he is heading to the airport. But in upcoming scenes, viewers will see him having a change of heart, after an important conversation with Tim.
