BIG SURPRISE AHEAD!!! EastEnders’ Lacey Turner announces surprise new project after Strictly news
EastEnders‘ Lacey Turner has unveiled a surprise new project following her Strictly Come Dancing news. The Walford legend was confirmed as a contestant on the next season of the BBC dancing show earlier this month, saying she was “so excited” to sign up.
The Stacey Slater actor has now revealed she is releasing a book called Gold Dust, which will look back at her life and the women who have shaped her.
Revealing the news on Instagram, Lacey wrote: “Well… this is a bit surreal. I’ve spent the last year looking back on my life and talking about the women who helped shape me, and now I can finally share it with you.”
She explained that the book is filled with “stories, laughter, life lessons and some very special people who have been there through every chapter” of her life.
“Writing this book has reminded me just how lucky I’ve been to have such strong, funny and inspiring women around me. I can’t wait for you to read it,” she added.
Gold Dust is due to be published on 22 October. Publisher Penguin teased that it will include Lacey’s memories of “life wisdom” from EastEnders legends such as Barbara Windsor and June Brown, while readers will also “learn how Lacey’s iconic Nanny Chick inspired Stacey’s spiritedness, and discover personal stories about the reality of growing up in the public eye”.

It is further described as “an uplifting celebration and a reminder that women are bloody amazing – just as precious as gold dust”.

Speaking about the project, Lacey said in a video: “I have been very heavily sort of pushed through life by really strong women. And I absolutely loved talking about them and telling the story of how they got me where I am today.

“And I want everybody to know how amazing they are, because I truly do believe that if it wasn’t for that handful of women, would I be sitting here now? Probably not.”
Some of her EastEnders co-stars shared their love in the comments, with Emma Barton (Honey Mitchell) writing: “Beaut”, while Jessie Wallace (Kat Slater) wrote: “You go girl! I love you my little sis.” Former show star Natalie Cassidy (Sonia Fowler) added: “Amazing! Love you.”
Lacey was the first celeb to be announced for Strictly 2026, and she has since been joined by returning Love Island star Dani Dyer – who was forced to pull out last year – singer Delta Goodrem, and celebrity hair stylist Chris Appleton.
