Coronation Street – does Ryan Connor have feelings for Leanne Battersby?

Coronation Street might be revisiting a surprise one-night stand after tonight’s scenes hinted at Ryan Connor having feelings for Leanne Battersby.

The two had a night of passion last year at a time when Leanne was struggling with Nick Tilsley’s affair with her sister, Toyah. The potential romance with Ryan ended up going nowhere, though now it seems that he can’t conceal his jealousy over Leanne’s new relationship with Idris Nazir.

In tonight’s episode, Leanne bumped into Idris, who asked her out to lunch.

Later on at the Rovers, she opened up to him about her concerns for Sam Blakeman. Earlier that day, Nick had insisted they shouldn’t tell Sam about Will changing his testimony in Megan Walsh’s trial, though Leanne said they couldn’t keep lying to him for long.

Idris listened to Leanne and offered to cheer her up by relaxing together at the spa at Debbie Webster’s hotel.

Once at the hotel, Idris suggested to stay the night, with Leanne accepting his proposal. At the reception, Ryan quizzed Idris about his booking and sussed him out as he was “looking out for” Leanne.

“Look, what you do is your business, mate, but I know Leanne, that’s all,” Ryan began. “She’s sort of a mate, and she’s gone through a lot lately, so…”

Idris interrupted him, saying he sounded “a bit jealous” but Ryan calmly said he was just protecting Leanne.

“Aw. Well, you don’t need to cause she’s with me,” Idris replied smugly, asking for a room once again.

Ryan booked them in with a forced smile plastered on his face — is he harbouring romantic feelings for Leanne?
