đ¨ THE ULTIMATE TIME WARP: CORONATION STREET BRINGS BACK SIMON BARLOW ACTOR AFTER 23 YEARS WITH A JAW-DROPPING TWIST đŁ
Coronation Street is bringing back a past star in a touching full circle moment. However, there is a twist, as while Jake Parry previously played Simon Barlow, youâd be forgiven for not recognising him.
Thatâs because he portrayed the character as a baby alongside his twin brother Oscar 23 years ago, and this time heâs back in the fold in the new role of Damo.
Set to appear in one episode next week, the scenes will see Damo tumble out of a car as part of the Leanne Battersby and Idris Nazir storyline.
Sharing a preview of his appearance on TikTok, Jake wrote: âItâs a pleasure and an honor to be back on this great show, DAMO is coming next week.â
He then clarified: âFor anyone wondering I played Simon Barlow with my brother when I was a baby, I have now [come] back as a different character DAMO which is out next week,â adding that the appearance airs on 26 May.
Since his initial Corrie role, Jake has established a successful career as an actor, starring in the likes of Red Rose as well as a number of adverts.
Meanwhile, the new Leanne story will see her develop a romance with newcomer Idris, who is Alyaâs cousin.
âIdris likes Leanne a great deal because sheâs real,â Junade Khan, who plays Idris, recently explained. âHe has a flashy lifestyle, but when his path crosses with Leanne, he realises that sheâs genuinely a real person and that attracts him to her.â
Leanne recognises Idris as late ex Kalâs cousin, Junade adding: âIdris recognises Leanne but doesnât quite know where from. It was a family wedding that they had, where they were on the same table, so they recognise each other, and the connection clicksâŚâ

Since Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) left Coronation Street, his son Simon (Alex Bain) has gone off the rails to a large extent after feeling abandoned by his father.
This has led to Simon turning to the bottle in an attempt to make himself feel better, behaviour which his alcoholic dad had warned him against before he left.
Recently Nick (Ben Price) asked Simon to drive Sam (Jude Riordan) to a chess competition, not realising that Simon had already been drinking that day. The inevitable happened and Simon lost control of the car and crashed into a road sign.
Luckily Sam appeared to be unhurt â but in coming episodes his behaviour gives Roy (David Neilson) cause for concern when he seems unable to concentrate on his chess game.

Later Hope (Isabella Flanagan) makes a worrying discovery when she finds Sam unconscious on the floor at school and the boy is rushed to hospital.
Nick is shocked when Leanne (Jane Danson) tells the doctor that Sam as recently in a car accident and admits to Nick that she lied about the car having faulty brakes. Sheâs forced to tell Nick the truth â that Simon was over the limit when he drove Sam and he put both their lives at risk with his reckless behaviour.
Nick is horrified by Simonâs behaviour, and Simon is overwhelmed by guilt and decides to take responsibility for what heâs done.
âHe feels dreadful, Simonâs already put this kid through so muchâ, Alex Bain told us.
âHe has already been the catalyst for causing him to have so much heartbreak and struggle. He is the reason in a roundabout way that Sam lost his mum through Simon getting involved with Harveyâs gang. Heâs got a lot to answer for and now heâs put him in hospital.â
We know that Alex Bain is due to leave the show soon. Could Simon be heading for prison after admitting his crime?
SIMON Barlowâs exit storyline has been revealed in Coronation Street.
It comes after actor Alex Bain was axed from the ITV soap opera earlier this year from his role as the wayward son of Peter Barlow

Alex was left gutted about the decision for his character to be removed from the programme but the plans for the character of Simon have now been unveiled.
Late last year, Coronation Street viewers watched on as Simon waved goodbye to father Peter as he set off in search of a new life at sea after taking up a working position on a boat.
He ended up drinking heavily as a result of feeling abandoned as he mirrored that of his fatherâs alcoholism.
However, in upcoming scenes, Simon will be left considering two options that could see him flee Weatherfield for good.
