Cast member’s tribute as major Coronation Street star exits – with final scenes very soon

Coronation Street star Jude Riordan has paid tribute to co-star Beth Nixon ahead of her final scenes, assuring viewers that they actually get along in real-life.

The Sam Blakeman star shared a picture with Beth Nixon, who plays abuser Megan Walsh on the ITV soap.

Megan, as viewers know, has tormented Sam for months after he uncovered the truth that she was abusing Weatherfield High school student Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale).

Sam was quick to work out what was really happening after overhearing a conversation between Will and Megan, which prompted him to investigate.

Fearing the truth might out, Megan encouraged Will to befriend Sam while she took the bad cop approach, knocking the schoolboy’s confidence, removing his coursework assignment from Daniel Osbourne’s (Rob Mallard) marking pile (to ensure he got a late mark) and planting doubts in heads about his capabilities as a student.

The ordeal took its toll on Sam, who took drugs and collapsed.

While recovering in hospital, he told Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) about what Megan’s abuse of Will, which ultimately led to her arrest and set in motion her downfall.

In scenes this week, Megan stands trial for what she’s done – but how exactly the proceedings will pan out remain to be seen.

But while tensions are at an all-time high in Weatherfield, star Jude assured viewers that he and co-star Beth get along in real life as he shared a picture of them together.

‘FRIENDS REALLY,’ he posted on Instagram alongside the snap. ‘I really enjoyed working with Beth.

‘Megan really tormented Sam and pushed him right over the edge. But shows what a great baddie she is!’

Beth responded, writing: ‘Aww Jude, you can see the tears in my eyes here🤣 I loved working with you and you are smashing this storyline, the [inside Soap] nomination is so so well deserved you are a [star emoji].
