Coronation Street’s Ryan Mulvey departing for new role – but there’s good news

Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) was hardly the most likeable lad Coronation Street had ever introduced when he turned up last year as the ‘top dog’ of Dylan Wilson’s (Liam McCheyne) young offenders unit.
Of course, a lot of why he was such a hateful little scrote was explained when we were introduced to his parents, Mick and Lou Michaelis (Joe Layton and Farrel Hegarty).
Even still, he tried his hardest to emulate his awful dad, making enemies of various street residents, in particular, local plod Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) before the heart-breaking discovery that his real dad was actually the other local plod, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts).
Mick and Lou both ended up being handed lengthy sentences, Mick for the murder of our Craigy, Craig Tinker (Colson Smith), and Lou for her attack on Gary Windass (Mikey North).
While Mick busted out of the clink for a while, Brody and his siblings, Joanie and Shanice (Savanna Pennington and Molly Kilduff) eventually ended up in the care of Sally and Tim Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor and Joe Duttine), and finally being in a stable, crime-free home allowed Brody to soften a bit.
I mean, there was that time he and Dylan wound up as part of Carl Webster’s (Jonathan Howard) car theft racket, but he really is much nicer these days, honest!
It turns out Brody will be taking a short break from the cobbles, though, as actor Ryan Mulvey will be undertaking a very different role when he appears in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Epstein Theatre in Liverpool this year, with the show running from December 5, 2026 to January 3, 2027.
Taking to their official Instagram with a poster featuring Ryan decked out in some very fetching royal attire, the theatre captioned the snap: ‘We’re delighted to reveal that Coronation Street favourite Ryan Mulvey will star in this year’s spectacular family pantomime, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at The Epstein Theatre!
‘Packed with laugh-out-loud comedy, dazzling costumes, stunning special effects and plenty of festive magic, this promises to be the biggest Christmas panto of them all!’

Ryan shared the poster to his own Instagram story, captioning it ‘oh no he isn’t’, while tagging Jason Manford, requesting some tips.
On-screen sister, Savanna, commented on the post: ‘Yes bro. I can’t wait to see this’, while the mum of his other cobbles sibling, Diana Kilduff replied to her with: ‘let’s get tickets together, Molly would love that’.
Junade Khan, the actor behind shady Corrie newcomer, Idris Nazir, who’s taken a keen interest in Brody, commented: ‘You’ll smash bro’, while former on-screen mum, Suzanne Hall said: ‘love this!’.
