Emmerdale finally announces divorce plans as Robert and Kev come face to face
Emmerdale’s Kev Townsend’s return to the village causes chaos next week – although it’s a welcome twist for Robert Sugden, who is over the moon when his ex suggests they go ahead with divorce proceedings! Will the move finally pave the way for Robert to marry Aaron Dingle?
“What a relief for Robert,” confirms our Emmerdale insider. “Divorcing Kev means that he can officially close that chapter in his life and, once finalised, Robert is free to marry Aaron, which he so desperately wants to do.

“It’s also a good sign that Kev has moved on and doesn’t have any plans to start harassing the pair of them again!”
While shifting cakes from his van, Kev has a word with Robert, telling him that it’s about time they legally end their marriage. Of course, Robert – who has been engaged to Aaron since January – is chuffed to have confirmation that Kev is on the same page as him when it comes to their relationship.
Also pleased to see Kev is Claudette, who insists on giving him a place to stay. Back at Woodbine Cottage, Kev shares a cuppa with Claudette and Charles before confessing to them that Lewis is his son, but that he isn’t welcome in his life. Kev then admits his thoughts about running away, but Claudette won’t hear a word of it.
“Claudette is extremely protective over Kev,” explains our source. “She’s gutted when he talks about leaving the village, so she spells out that he is a good man who deserves to have his family around.
“That’s not all, though, as Claudette also makes it clear to Kev that he should try to foster a relationship with Lewis. Will Claudette convince Kev not to give up?”

Meanwhile, not everyone is thrilled that Kev is back as he soon comes to blows with Nicola…
“She’s horrified to find Kev filling up a bucket in the café toilets and gives him a piece of her mind!” reveals our insider. “After that, Nicola becomes intent on driving Kev out of the village once and for all…”

Will Nicola succeed in her mission to send Kev packing? Or will Kev stand his ground and make a life for himself in the village?
