Exclusive: EastEnders confirms Josh and Oscar future after love triangle reveal

EastEnders star Joshua Vaughan has revealed the future of his character Josh Goodwin’s dramatic love triangle, after his and Oscar Branning’s betrayal was revealed to heartbroken Jasmine Fisher.

When Josh arrived in Albert Square earlier this year to reunite with his twin sister Jasmine after years apart, what he didn’t expect was to form a romantic connection with Oscar – who he didn’t realise was Jasmine’s on-off boyfriend!

As Jasmine and Oscar rekindled their relationship when she was released from prison, Josh and Oscar kept being drawn to one another and they began a secret affair.

However, at the twins’ birthday dinner, Josh couldn’t hide the truth from Jasmine any longer and he revealed the truth about his and Oscar’s relationship in front of everyone. In an exclusive chat with us at Inside Soap, actor Joshua explains that his character reached breaking point in these explosive scenes.

“It was just too much! I’m Josh’s biggest lawyer right now, and I sympathise with him because there’s nothing but guilt and pretence since he arrived in Walford,” he says.

“It was seeing his sister have the most special moment of her life and knowing that he was with her boyfriend the night before… he had no choice but to say something, even though it was awful timing!”

This bombshell confession marked the end of Jasmine and Oscar’s relationship, and Josh and Jasmine’s bond has also been deeply damaged because of the betrayal – though the trio were recently brought back together when they all got tested for a sexually transmitted infection!

Josh, Jasmine and Oscar are all now single, but Joshua tells us that family is going to be his character’s priority for now, there could be unfinished romantic business for Josh…

“It’s tricky territory!” Joshua laughs. “I think Oscar and Josh will always have something between them. For now they’re both single and the door is open, but I don’t know if either of them will push it.

“Josh came to Walford to find his long-lost sister, not to find true love, so I think Jasmine comes first. But Josh and Oscar won’t be completely far gone from each other!”
