Coronation Street fans 'rumble' what Christina is hiding as exit 'sealed' - The Mirror

Coronation Street fans have shared their confusion over Christina Boyd’s story from the night of Theo Silverton’s murder as they think they ‘know’ what she’s hiding.

As those who follow the ITV soap know, actress Amy Robbins recently reprised the role of Christina Boyd, returning late last year after being double-crossed by her daughter, Daisy Midgeley.

Her return coincided with the exit of Eileen Grimshaw, George Shuttleworth’s ex, and it wasn’t long before a romance was sparked between the undertaker and a usually scheming Christina.

But both George and Christina have now found themselves at the centre of the drama as they are among those suspected of Theo Silverton’s murder.

Weeks have now passed since the abuser was confirmed as the victim of a murder, which was first revealed would rock the cobbles back in February. At the time, an episode of the ITV soap featuring a flashforward confirmed that a shocking crime would occur on the cobbles, with Betsy Swain making the deadly discovery.

It was confirmed that she would find the murder victim on the night of her mum, Lisa Swain’s, wedding to Carla Connor, and it would either be Theo, Carl Webster, Jodie Ramsey, Megan Walsh or Maggie Driscoll, whose lifeless body she would stumble across as she continued the wedding celebrations.

While Lisa and Carla’s wedding took place on April 23, it wasn’t until a week later, after an episode of the soap was dedicated to each possible victim, that a horrified Betsy was seen discovering Theo dead, with the abuser’s 13-month reign of terror, during which he made the life of his partner, Todd Grimshaw, hell, coming to a dramatic end.

In the build-up to his demise, Todd played a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse to outsmart a vengeful Theo. Todd managed to hide, and he called Christina Boyd to let her and George Shuttleworth know what had happened. It wasn’t long before Christina set off to go and find him, warning George to stay at the house.

Meanwhile, Summer Spellman found herself caught in the crossfire when she came face-to-face with a sinister Theo, who forced her to hand over her phone, which he then chucked out of the window. Soon, outside, a jovial Betsy was given the shock of her life as she stumbled across the villain’s body.

It has since left Todd, George, Christina and Summer in the frame for Theo’s murder, as well as Gary Windass and Theo’s ex-wife, Danielle Silverton. But while all eyes are currently on Summer, Christina’s behaviour has sparked suspicion among Corrie fans.

Viewers have seen her encouraging George to tell the police the truth about seeing Summer running from the direction of Todd and Theo’s flat on the night the latter was killed. Meanwhile, Christina was also pulled back into the station herself after some ‘discrepancies’ in her statement, including, which she said, forgetting she pulled in for petrol when she went to find Todd, who was trying to escape Theo.

The update left Corrie fans confused, as well as wondering what Christina may be trying to hide as she pushes more and more suspicion onto Summer being the one responsible for Theo’s demise.

@Welsh_Mayflower said: “My suspicions have been Christina ever since she said out loud that she was taking George’s jumper to the dry cleaner in earshot of Lisa. Exactly what you’d say to pin it on someone else. #Corrie #Christina.” @Hey_Judexx questioned: “#corrie. What are George and Christina up to? She went for petrol on her way to get Todd? She was in a traffic jam?? On the way to Inkerman Street?”

@AnnyTrish asked: “So, Christina convinces George to rat on Summer. What’s she hiding #Corrie.” @LisaJon64241298 posted: “Did Christina do it? because she really is pinning for Summer to be thrown under the bus. Surely it must be Theo’s Ex wife or son……… who knows her bratty daughter #Corrie.”

@teenamassam shared: “Christina killed Theo, I’m sure of it now, although my timing could be out #Corrie @sarahlawson84 added: “I hate to say it, but I think the devious side to Christina is coming out again. Deflecting onto George, now Summer when she’s been loose with the truth herself #Corrie.”

As suspicions surrounding Christina Boyd intensified, viewers of Coronation Street continued to offer a host of new theories about what really happened the night Theo Silverton was murdered. Many fans believe Christina wasn’t just concealing a small detail in her testimony, but may know more than she’s telling the police.

In recent episodes of the ITV series, Christina has become increasingly anxious as the investigation progresses. While she consistently maintains she only wanted to help George Shuttleworth avoid trouble, her attempts to divert police attention towards Summer Spellman have struck viewers as unusual.

Viewers also quickly noticed Christina constantly changing details in her story. Initially, she claimed she drove straight to Todd Grimshaw’s apartment after receiving a distress call. However, in the latest interrogation, Christina revealed she had to stop for gas and even got stuck in heavy traffic on her way to Inkerman Street.

This detail immediately sparked questions from fans, as many believed the route she was on at the time wasn’t as crowded as she claimed. Many viewers suggested Christina was deliberately prolonging her timeline to create an alibi.

On social media, debates about the case continued to rage. One viewer wrote: “I don’t believe Christina at all. She’s changed her testimony too many times. It feels like she’s trying to hide the fact that she was near the scene longer than the police know.”

Another viewer shared: “The most suspicious thing is that Christina kept trying to get George to tell the police that Summer was near Todd’s apartment. If she’s innocent, why is she trying to shift all suspicion onto someone else so quickly?”

Meanwhile, some other fans believe Christina might be protecting George more than herself. Previously, George had been furious when he learned that Theo continued to threaten Todd and disrupt their family life. Many believe George had a perfectly valid motive to confront Theo on the night of the murder.

However, instead of letting George get the spotlight, Christina may be trying to control the whole narrative to protect the man she loves. One X post stated: “I think Christina knows what George did that night. She’s trying to change the story to save him.”

Additionally, another theory suggests Christina may have directly encountered Theo before he was killed. In last week’s episode, viewers noticed Christina becoming particularly tense when Lisa Swain mentioned her disappearance on the night of the crime.

Many fans believe the writers are deliberately planting small details to reveal that Christina met Theo before his death. Some even suggest she may have unintentionally caused his death while trying to protect Todd.

“Maybe Christina didn’t intentionally kill Theo,” one viewer speculated. “But I think there was a scuffle and things got out of control.”

Meanwhile, Summer Spellman continued to be the focus of police attention after being spotted fleeing the apartment complex at the exact time of the crime. Although Summer claimed she was only panicking after the confrontation with Theo, her failure to immediately report to the police made the situation unfavorable.

This further fueled suspicion against Christina, as she seemed to take every opportunity to emphasize Summer’s presence at the scene. Some viewers believe Christina is trying to create a “scapegoat” to cover up her own secret.

Furthermore, fans noticed Christina’s strange reaction whenever Danielle Silverton – Theo’s ex-wife – was mentioned. Danielle was also on the list of suspects after months of enduring Theo’s manipulation and abuse.

Some fans believe Christina and Danielle may have secretly met before the night of the crime. “It would be shocking if Christina and Danielle teamed up to deal with Theo,” one viewer commented. “Both women have reasons to want him gone.”

In recent developments, Lisa Swain has also begun to suspect that someone is deliberately trying to divert the investigation. After discovering further inconsistencies in Christina’s testimony, the female detective is expected to continue pressuring to uncover the truth.

Viewers are now eagerly awaiting the next episodes of Coronation Street to see if Christina is truly involved in Theo’s death. However, many fans believe the show still has a major undisclosed twist.

One widely discussed theory suggests the real killer could be a character the audience least suspects. However, with Christina constantly changing her story and trying to influence the testimonies of others, she remains the most suspected individual at the moment.

As the investigation intensifies, secrets on Coronation Street seem to be gradually revealed. And if the predictions…
