This week, Sarah has been sparking concern among her Underworld colleagues, which comes weeks after she was hit over the head and left for dead by Jodie Ramsey at the end of last month, with the incident unfolding during a dramatic week of episodes, which ended with the murder of one of five previously named villains.

She found herself wrapped up in the drama when she headed to her brother David’s home, No.8 Coronation Street, and found it had been trashed, which came after she heard David and Jodie’s confrontation after she lured him into bed under the impersonation of her sister, and his wife, Shona Platt.

Later, Sarah carefully walked through the house and found Jodie’s trinket box, which viewers have previously seen, containing unusual momentos, such as a USB stick and a picture of Bernie Winter’s face.

She ended up being knocked unconscious by Jodie and left on the flood until Shona Platt, Jodie’s sister and Sarah’s sister-in-law, returned home and found her, before David also returned home and phoned an ambulance. Shona assumed that the men who had been after Jodie had come back for her, and that Sarah had been caught in the crossfire.

As Sarah recovered from her injury, Jodie was missing. But when she eventually returned to the cobbles, she lied about being kidnapped after witnessing Sarah’s attack. Since then, Sarah’s behaviour has come into question, with her snapping at the factory staff and making mistakes on orders.

During Thursday’s (May 21) episode of Corrie, Carla was seen telling Sarah she needed to take some time off work, having accompanied her home the previous evening drunk, and said that Michael Bailey would take over the contract during her absence.

Sarah protested, but Carla wasn’t having any of it. During the last visit to Weatherfield of the week on Friday (May 22), Sarah still didn’t appear herself as her friend, Todd Grimshaw, told her that because of George Shuttleworth’s statement, it looked like Summer Spellman was going to be charged for Theo Silverton’s murder.

Sitting down at the bus stop and taking a breath, Sarah was joined by Gary. While she was concerned for him, he returned the concern and let her know that she needed to focus on herself, and not worry about him or work, and that he was there for her if she needed it, before their conversation was interrupted by Gary’s wife, Maria.

And it’s left Corrie fans wondering if Sarah and Gary, who has also been in the frame for Theo’s murder, have something to hide. @LadyReignFC noted: “Sarah & Gary are both not acting like themselves & this is now the 4th (?) time they’ve had some moment together. If Gary & Sarah had a moment again that night… Gary has also been very odd with Maria for while now. And she lied to the police for him without hesitation #corrie.”

@TheConnorSwains commented: “It’s clear Lisa doesn’t believe Summer is the killer, but she can’t go against the evidence they have right now. Why’s Tyrone lying? Gary deleted the footage of not just him smashing up the van but also him and Sarah together, I’m convinced of it! #Swarla #Corrie.” @Shannon79053723 shared: “I don’t condone cheating but Gary and Sarah have always had more chemistry together than they ever did with other partners. It definitely feels like the writers are hinting at something between them again. #Corrie.”

Coronation Street viewers are convinced that Sarah Platt is hiding a huge secret after another tense encounter with Gary Windass left fans questioning what really happened on the night of Theo Silverton’s death.

The ITV soap has continued to build mystery around Sarah in recent weeks following her traumatic attack by Jodie Ramsey, but many fans now believe there is far more going on behind the scenes than Sarah is willing to admit.

Ever since she returned to work at Underworld after recovering from her injuries, Sarah has appeared distracted, emotional and increasingly defensive whenever anyone asks how she is coping. While Carla Connor initially tried to support her through the difficult aftermath of the attack, recent episodes have shown growing concern among Sarah’s friends and family.

During Monday night’s episode, Sarah arrived late at the factory once again and immediately clashed with Beth Sutherland after an order was incorrectly processed. While Sarah insisted the mistake wasn’t her fault, viewers noticed she appeared visibly shaken throughout the morning and repeatedly checked her phone whenever messages came through.

Later in the episode, Sarah was seen secretly deleting a voicemail before quickly hiding her screen as Michael Bailey approached. The suspicious moment did not go unnoticed by fans watching at home, many of whom immediately took to social media to speculate that Gary may have been the person trying to contact her.

The pair have shared several emotional scenes over the past fortnight, with viewers noting that Sarah and Gary seem unusually protective of one another. Their history together has only added fuel to the growing theories online, especially after Gary appeared determined to keep Sarah calm whenever discussions about Theo’s murder investigation arise.

Tuesday’s episode added even more intrigue when Maria Connor confronted Gary over his increasingly distant behaviour. Maria admitted she felt like he was “somewhere else lately” and questioned why he seemed more interested in checking on Sarah than spending time with his own family.

Gary attempted to reassure Maria that he was only supporting Sarah because of everything she had been through, but fans were unconvinced. Many pointed out that Gary looked nervous throughout the conversation and became defensive the moment Maria mentioned Theo’s death.

Things escalated further later in the week when DS Lisa Swain revisited the Street to continue questioning residents about the timeline surrounding Theo’s final movements. While several neighbours cooperated with the investigation, Sarah appeared deeply uncomfortable during her interview and struggled to maintain eye contact while answering questions.

At one point, Lisa mentioned that CCTV footage from a nearby side street had mysteriously disappeared during the exact timeframe investigators were attempting to trace Theo’s whereabouts. The camera then briefly cut to Gary, who looked visibly alarmed as Sarah avoided looking in his direction.

That short moment was enough to send Coronation Street fans into meltdown online.

One viewer wrote on X: “There is NO way Gary deleted that footage for no reason. Sarah knows something and the two of them are covering it up together. #Corrie.”

Another posted: “The chemistry between Sarah and Gary is impossible to ignore again. Every scene feels loaded with guilt and tension. I honestly think they were together the night Theo died.”

A third fan commented: “Maria is starting to suspect something and honestly I feel awful for her. Gary acts completely different around Sarah. The writers are definitely building toward another affair storyline.”

Elsewhere in Weatherfield, tensions continued to rise as Summer Spellman faced mounting pressure from the police investigation. After George Shuttleworth’s statement seemingly placed Summer near the scene shortly before Theo’s death, several residents began to question whether she could truly be responsible.

However, viewers are increasingly convinced that Summer is being used as a distraction while the real truth remains hidden.

During Friday’s dramatic episode, Sarah suffered what appeared to be a panic attack after overhearing Todd Grimshaw discussing the latest developments in the investigation. She quickly rushed outside for air before once again being joined by Gary.

In an emotional conversation at the precinct, Gary urged Sarah not to blame herself for “everything that’s happened,” a line that immediately caught viewers’ attention because of its vague wording.

Sarah then replied: “If people knew the truth, everything would fall apart.”

Although the pair quickly changed the subject after spotting Maria nearby, fans believe the exchange may have been the biggest clue yet that Sarah and Gary are hiding something significant.

Some viewers now suspect the former couple may have secretly reunited before Theo’s death and accidentally become caught up in events that spiralled out of control.

Others believe Sarah could have witnessed something involving Gary and is now protecting him from the police.

One fan theory gaining traction online suggests Theo may have discovered Sarah and Gary together shortly before his death, leading to a confrontation that ended tragically.

Another theory claims Gary may have attempted to help Sarah after her attack by Jodie, only for the situation to escalate unexpectedly later that evening.

Fans have also noticed subtle details in recent episodes that appear to hint at unresolved feelings between the pair. During several scenes, Sarah and Gary have shared lingering looks, while Maria has repeatedly appeared uncomfortable whenever they spend time together.

Longtime viewers will remember Sarah and Gary’s complicated romantic history, with the pair previously sharing an affair that devastated several relationships on the cobbles.

Because of that past, many fans believe the soap may now be setting the stage for another explosive betrayal storyline.

One viewer posted: “Gary and Sarah have unfinished business written all over them. Corrie keeps putting them together for a reason.”

Another added: “I actually think Sarah genuinely cares about Gary more than anyone else. The emotional connection between them still feels stronger than her relationships with other characters.”

Meanwhile, others have predicted that Maria could soon uncover the truth herself.

A fan commented: “Maria is far too smart not to realise something strange is happening. Once she finds out Gary lied about the CCTV, it’s over.”

With the investigation into Theo’s death continuing and Sarah’s behaviour becoming increasingly erratic, viewers are expecting major revelations in the coming weeks.

Coronation Street bosses have remained tight-lipped about what really happened on the night Theo died, but fans are convinced the answers lie with Sarah and Gary.

Whether the pair are hiding an affair, covering up evidence or protecting someone else entirely, many viewers believe Weatherfield is heading toward one of its biggest shock twists of the year.

And with trust beginning to crumble between several residents on the cobbles, it may only be a matter of time before the truth finally comes out.
