đŸ˜± CHRISTINA’S SECRET CONTACT IS EXPOSED AS GLENDA FEARS GEORGE IS BEING PLAYED FOR A FOOL!!!

Coronation Street is set to explore Christina Boyd’s past as she raises Glenda Shuttleworth’s suspicions. The news comes as Christina is suspected of Theo Silverton’s murder alongside Todd Grimshaw, Gary Windass, and Christina’s boyfriend George Shuttleworth, following Summer Spellman’s exoneration.

In their summer soap preview, TV Times magazine revealed that Glenda (Jodie Prenger) will discover that Christina (Amy Robbins) is in contact with her ex-husband Lenny.

The revelation will cause Glenda to fear that her brother George (Tony Maudsley) is being played for a fool by Christina. But is Christina cheating on George or is she hiding a very different secret?

Coronation Street to explore Christina's past as Glenda discovers a secret

Christina initially appeared in Weatherfield to visit her daughter Daisy Midgeley, whom she had neglected for most of her life. Christina’s scheming then led her into a feud with Daisy’s stepmother Jenny Connor. However, since entering a relationship with George, Christina has become a much more trustworthy and stable character

Last month, as DS Lisa Connor-Swain and Kit Green continued their investigation into Theo’s murder, Christina was revealed to have been lying about her movements on the night of his death.

DS Connor-Swain’s colleague PC Brady discovered that Christina’s car was seen on Hyde street at the time when she had claimed to be picking up Todd from Inkerman Street.

Christina was then questioned by police off-camera before coming home and assuring a worried George that she had just gotten her timings mixed up. She told George that she forgotten she’d filled up with petrol before picking up Todd, calling it all just an “oversight.”

The coming weeks on the soap will see more flashback scenes before Theo’s murderer is finally revealed.

Corrie producer Kate Brooks recently shared: “We reveal to the audience who it is during late June/early July.

“There’s lots of people who you’ll definitely think it could be. It’s a massive story with so many different twists and different offshoots.

“You’ll think you’re watching one thing, and then it diverts into a completely new story territory. It’ll definitely keep people guessing!”

George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) is pretty convinced he knows who killed Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) in Coronation Street.

The abuser was found dead in the back yard of the corner shop last month, and since then, a large-scale murder investigation has taken place. George was the first in a long line of potential suspects to be questioned, after Theo’s blood was found on his jumper.

There was also a large portion of the evening that he spent on a walk alone, and it wasn’t long before his partner Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) was hauled into the interview room to see if she could support his story.

Ultimately, the Weatherfield policing team had very little evidence to formally arrest him, and so they turned their attentions to Gary Windass (Mikey North). The builder had destroyed Theo’s van just hours before the death, and also sent him a threatening text message.

Fortunately, his wife Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) helped to fabricate a story, saying that they were together on the night.

Earlier this week, Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) looked visibly unnerved when police told Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) that they were closing in on the murderer. She’d already announced her intentions to move to an American university, something which could make her look guilty if the police were to find out.

Little did she realise, there was already some evidence coming to light…

George had stumbled across her journal, which detailed how she wanted to aim a gun at Theo’s head. He and Christina flicked through the pages, shocked at the contents, though were ultimately caught in the act.

A furious Summer tore strips off them for reading her private diary, and swiftly threw the book onto a fire and ensured that it could never be read again.

The following day, police asked Summer to attend a voluntary interview at the station, but not because of the journal. DS Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) had been flicking through her wedding photos, and saw a snap of Summer wearing a brooch that had been found in Theo’s flat.

She denied all knowledge of how it had got there, and when she returned to the cobbles, tried to cement this story with George.

He was having none of it, having remembered that she was seen running away from the direction of the crime scene.

In today’s episode, Summer suggested to George that he might be the one responsible, and then lashed out towards best mates Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) and Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) gossiping about her. Gary stepped in to diffuse the situation, guiding her to the builder’s yard for a cuppa.

Meanwhile, George was troubled by Christina being brought back into the station. She’d been caught lying, as CCTV footage showed that she was actually in the market town of Hyde, instead of picking Todd up from Inkerman Street.

Not wanting to upset George anymore, she told him that there had been a small discrepancy in her earlier statement and that she’d had to iron out the details with Lisa.

Trying to deflect, she urged him to speak out about what he saw Summer doing on the night Theo died. He wrestled with the idea, but after bumping into the detective outside of the Rovers, decided to come clean.
